Yi-Chieh Chen: Phenomenal dining experience for special occasions, featuring custom 8-course tasting menu with alcohol pairing (welcome cocktail, 1 bottle of Champagne Krug, 1 glass of French white and red wine). The reservation was made via email and the communication was swift. Chef Diego Niño was able to create a gluten-free menu for us plus a special dessert at the end for our birthday celebration. The experience and service were top-notch and enjoyable. Chef Diego, the sommelier, and the entire team were very attentive and personable. We had an amazing time and left feeling very full! We even got to open the champagne bottle with a sword 🗡 🍾 Highly recommended if you are looking for a special and unique venue for a romantic occasion or private group event. Erevank Argel: I had only had a similar gastronomic experience at Le Cinq, also French. Host chef Sylvain Desbois provides that same sense of luxury accompanied by a quirky and interesting dining experience. Each of the moments in the eleven-course dinner is special and has a story. His mother's garlic cream or the way some ingredient inspired a dish. It was cool to hear him talk about his creations and even more fascinating was the presentation of each dish: small sculptures where the elements were mixed to create different sensations.

Phillip Jares: The atmosphere was very nice and the staff were very prompt. We received the tasting menu and the waiter explained each dish served. A few things were very tasty. I do not like cilantro and one dish was very heavy with the flavor. My dining companion enjoyed it. Overall, I was very disappointed with most things served. At this price point I expected more.

Nha Ha: A great experience and excellent setting. There wasn’t a wine pairing when I went but they did offer what they thought would be a great drink to pair. I would opt to finish dessert in the patio if the weather is nice and it isn’t too busy. Food wasn’t mind blowing but it was tastefully done and had great flavor to it.

Melanie s: Solid 3.5. I had been looking forward to this meal for weeks but sad to say it did not meet my expectations - not even close. The space is gorgeous and the service was good, but the food simply did not impress. The dishes look nice but none of the dishes made me think, wow that was fantastic. And when the check came, I felt that the value didn't match the price paid whatsoever. I think it's clear they're taking advantage of the hype, and just don't care about the quality delivered. Maximo for instance was much tastier in my opinion and more reasonably priced. And honestly charging 200 pesos for a bottle of water is a scam. They can really do better for the prices they charge.

T Le: Came here with my husband because of the show Chef’s Table. It was a unique dining experience that you want to have once if you are visiting Mexico City! You can tell there was a lot of time and thought that was put into each dish which we appreciate. A+ for creativity! The service was flawless. Some reviews may say this place is overrated but if you like to indulge in fine dining, definitely give this place a try!! We booked our reservation 3 months ahead so make sure you pre-book before your trip!

Ceraun Loggins: This was worthy of the months wait and the price tag. Such a beautiful intimate dining experience. The flavors in the mouth was divine and you can tell how much thought and effort went into making this meal. The wine pairing is def what I would get because they were so divine and really highlighted the dishes. Standouts are the lobster Brussels sprout taco and the crab soup with crab empanada

Sunny Hirpara: This is my second Pujol experience and it simply always seems to impress. The ambiance to the service to the wine selection to the incredible food. We were blown away. I will admit I wasn’t a fan of the main fish dish but I always seem to not like 1 dish out of a tasting menu. Beyond that, everything was perfect. The chef even allowed us to come back into the kitchen and had the whole kitchen staff take a picture with us! So incredibly nice of them!

Caroline Shea: The only positive thing I have to say about Pujol is that the restaurant decor is aesthetically pleasing. I believe that it was once a fabulous restaurant as I know several people who had great things to say (none of whom have been in the past few years). I visited last week, on my first trip to Mexico City, after wanting to eat there for at least 6 or 7 years. The service was clunky and mediocre. Finding out about wine and even getting to look at a wine list was far more difficult than it should be. Not one dish we were served was delicious. Not one. There were elements of some that were good, but nothing I would like to eat again. The mole was the best thing, but serving it with only tortillas that are half odd-tasting leaf, half tortilla just wasn’t yummy. It’s rare that I take the time to write a restaurant review, but Pujol seems to be resting on the laurels of what it once was (and many dollars from tourists). There is absolutely no reason to spend $200-300/person at Pujol when some of our most delicious meals cost $45 for 3 people. Don’t waste your money!

Vee: Beautiful place, very sophisticated and modern. We did the tasting menu and were very full of delicious food by the end. Some portions were a little big, and I wasn't sold on the one weird foam/goo combo for dessert. (You get 3 desserts.) Could have used some substance and texture. And you really have to love and appreciate mole for one of the plates, which I guess I don't enough because it was like eating a plate of sauce. My date loved it though! There were some standout options as well. Everything is nicely presented and prompt. Service was impeccable and fast, and informative. The bar is not the best stocked but they have a decent choice of tequila, mezcal, and wines. Don't expect any fancy craft cocktails but they do the classics really well, and can tweak and twist them to your taste.

Kira Sea: Had a lovely dinner here. I got little tripped up by worlds 5th best restaurant since there is a higher expectation and food is subjective but overall, it was good. Loved the ant and the corn. Also really enjoyed the tortillas that had leaf since I didn’t get to try that anywhere else.

Ixchel Bennett: Came for my birthday and was expecting excellent food, service and drinks. We had the 9 course meal and the asparagus and the fish were amazing! The rest were Blah or salty! The service was super rushed and it felt that our waitress didn’t want to waitress. We ordered our cocktails and got them by our 3rd course…disappointed! Then by the 5th course we asked for a bottle of wine and got our 6th, 7th course and nothing. 👎🏼 Music was super loud that our waitress couldn’t even hear what we said. Had to ask twice to turn it down. I came for the weekend to CDMX and wished I had gone to another place. Also, washroom were not clean. Wow! This place should NOT be in the top 100 CDMX places. Live and learn!

I really enjoyed the fact there wasn't any music played which made the convo my wife and I were having very pleasant. We've been to a number of places here to eat where the music was so loud we could barely hear each other. We chose to have the tasting menu for dinner. They have the option of a 6 or 9 courses, we went for 6. The drink menu is not too big, which isn't a problem. They were able to make a non alcoholic Mojito for me. The staff did a great job explaining each dish. More importantly this place is very affordable. I would highly recommend Raiz and when we have visitors we will definitely suggest eating here to them.

Christina Sterbenz: Our meal at Amaya was one of the best we’ve ever had. Don’t miss this spot! The stewed fish with cuitlacoche was fantastic - subtle but complex flavors with a bit of tart. The service was also top notch. Our waiter was so friendly and fun and gave us complimentary dessert.

Jack: Not bad of a location for vegetarian food as there are a few options. They are probably known for their alcohol selection since they have a nice bar. Staff knows English so that was really helpful. Food selection seems really healthy, but with small portion sizes. In terms of food, we ordered the following: 1. Baked sweet potato, coastal chile tahini and hard-boiled egg 2. Roasted vegetables and poached egg (1) was actually quite good. Crunchy, sweet, but a small portion size. I'd order this again if I were to return. (2) simple, roasted veggies with a poached egg in the middle. small portion size again. Service: The staff was very kind and helped us with choosing our options. He iterated multiple times to make sure that we were okay with the ingredients. Service alone deserves a star. Again, probably a good place for the bar, but food wise might be limited for vegetarians.

Ricardo Berriozábal: This is a great option for a foodie experience in Mexico City. Recently remodeled this place has a really nice terrace and a cozy Interior if you want a more intimate feel. They have a bakery and offer all kinds of pastries and cakes to go. They also have a tasting menu which can be paired with wine at a very reasonable price for the area and portion size.

Samuel Hailu-Cross: Best restaurant in the city This happened some time ago but it speaks to the quality of this place. I was with a group and we ordered the 3 course meal (or was it 5 course), it was amazing. But the real beauty of the story is that we had a vegetarian friend who could not have that same menu. They improvised a meal for her (including a chocolate salad!) it was one of the best meals of her life!

Andrés Basteris: Bought a dinner for two gift certificate. I've been there before and I've had a really nice time and nice dinner, so I was confident it was going to be an excellent quality gift. I was very disappointed to find out afterwards that service was nothing special and my guests didn't get taken care of the way I remembered it. Maybe it's changed management? The place was going through renovations and even though the area and bathroom weren't ready they were sat there. Drinks were paid for and servers left the glasses empty the whole time. Wouldn't buy gift certificate from Jaso again.

Ana Morales: We were not impressed with this spot. The restaurant gives you the option of a 7 or 11 course menu. We went with the 7 and ordered drinks, I asked for champagne and got Lambrusco instead. The waiter seemed really confused as to why the substitution was not ok. Once the food came it was good but never really impressive. Dont have that many complaints, but its just not worth it for the price, plenty of better options in Polanco.

Ann Hardman: Inedible, Possibly Toxic Cake. Purchased a whole cake for about 525 pesos. The employee who packaged the cake put it in a bent-up plastic box that had dust and dirt inside. The outside was very hard like it had been sitting a long time in the case. The cake had no lemon or raspberry flavor. The only flavor was rubbing alcohol or gasoline, which makes me think the baker accidentally added chemicals to the cake or perhaps the sugar or fruit had fermented inside the cake over weeks.

Wontaek º: Maybe I came on an off day but the food was quite disappointing. I had the benny, chilaquiles, and bloody mary. The bread on the benny was good but the rest of it was pretty gross. As for the chilaquiles, it was very mediocre and I found a plastic twist tie inside. I told and showed the server but they didn’t apologize or do anything to fix the situation. He pretty much just said okay, took the plastic piece and threw it away.

A A: Brilliant breakfast spot! Try to get a seat in the lovely terrace at the back. I hardly speak any Spanish but Sofia our waitress spoke great English and was very helpful. Very nice pancakes, French toast, fruit and juice!

Zia: Awesome place on an awesome street. The wait staff is super helpful and attentive. The chicken wings are some of the best I’ve ever had. And live the pink stone all over this place. For dessert and drinks they invite you upstairs to have dessert and drinks and to relax. So happy we came here.

Eat It. Love It.: Seasonal and ingredient focused menu. Recommend sitting at the bar/chef's counter to watch the kitchen in action. Bring friends so you can try all the small plates. Save room for the desserts. Vegetarian friendly.

Amal: Innovative and tasty fusion cuisine. The menu features sophisticated dishes made with local ingredients and Middle Eastern spices. The blend of flavours is simply exquisite. Most dishes come as tapas, with quite filling portions. If you happen to see the fava beans hummus (Hummus de haba verde, matbuja, jitomate y aguacate criollo) on the menu, do yourself a favour and order it - it’s out of this world. I had the sesame & chocolate dessert and found it a bit too sweet for my taste. Don’t scroll down for too long looking at the photos, the menu is seasonal and changes quite frequently. One thing to note is that there are more options on Fridays and Saturdays, so you’d probably want to go on one of those days. And you’d certainly need to make a reservation. The place has a relaxed vibe with subtle background music and a minimalist design. The Chef’s counter is the centre stage and is a feast for the eyes. When I sat there, the chefs weren’t making incoming orders but rather preparing for next week’s menu ingredients (cleaning and cutting octopus, fish and meat). The warm, attentive and courteous service rounded out the experience. I’ll go back!

Andres Flores: I really enjoyed this restaurant. From the arrival with the wonderful attitude of the hostess to the great service of the waitress, the service is impeccable. The food is very good too, high quality ingredients with wholesome dishes.

Diego Poo: Located on the Juarez neighborhood, Elly’s brings to the table a unique proposal of different international cuisines through the eyes of Elly (NYC born) and its menu is constantly changing in order to keep customers intrigued as well as hooked on the different proposals. The restaurant is located on a two story house from the 1930’s. It offers different seating arrangements depending on your party’s mood. There’s a cocktail bar, a chef’s open counter and the full service restaurant. Among the different plates we were able to enjoy we had an awesome mezzo starter, a cauliflower salad with fennel, pecans & pecorino. We also had mushroom hummus with garlic flatbread (which was absolutely exquisite) and for our mains we decided to go with the oysters and the shawarma which was accompanied with pickles & zucchini. Lastly, we absolutely fell in love with their tahini and chocolate dessert which I would even dare to say is one of the best desserts I’ve had in a while. I also encourage you to try their cocktail drinks and take advantage of their in house mixologist. Overall, this place feels modern, extravagant and edgy while attaining excellent service and food. Definitely a must if you’re in the neighborhood or visiting.

Taj Meadows: This place is pretty great. The menu is small, but there’s a bunch of super tasty fresh and healthy options. There are good drinks too. The staff is helpful, service solid. And the option to head upstairs to the super comfy and loungy 2nd floor post dinner is lovely…we’re old and didn’t stay long, but it’s a great setup for a chill evening with a partner or a few friends

Yu En Cheah: We ordered a portion of hummus and a main of grilled dorado fish. The hummus is not bad and quite fresh with some fancy flatbread to serve with. The fish however is not fresh and the portion is very small for a main. Although small portion we did not managed to finish the fish as it doesn't taste right. The service is poor as the server keep looking at us due to not ordering any alcoholic drinks and never asked us if the food is alright.

Brian Kim: Elly’s is amazing. Had leek, sweet potato, artichoke & cauliflower — all were bursting with flavour and mixed with interesting texture. Kudos for having a fernet cocktail (which had so much refined complexity). We walked in at 7pm and dined at the bar and enjoyed it. When we peered in to give ourselves a quick tour of the beautiful venue, the staffs actually took us around and gave a quick tour — very kind & obviously appreciated.

Aarón Sánchez: Service is amazing. Everyone is very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. The food however is not the best with very few options for vegetarians other than the starters Vegetarian options: None of the main courses were vegetarian friendly

We got the tasting menu with wine pairing included and everything was so delicious and well executed. Not to mention reasonably priced. We've been in Mexico city for three weeks and this restaurant was definitely a highlight amongst all the touristy and "highly rated" places, which were mostly underwhelming to us. If we had more time we would come back.

The soup was basically a bone broth, and the scallops had been described to me as “entree sized” - it could not have been more than 3oz of scallops, which were chewy and undercooked. Pol Picas (Mr. Picas): Tried this restaurant on christmas day. With only one month opened it shows a really nice level. We got the 5 course menu, (beeing a bit pricey for the city, but not for the space), which you can choose and make it your way. We choose 10 different dishes so we could try more. Starting with an amouse bouche which was pretty interesting, containing a purple sauerkraut, a homemade raspberry bonegar gel and holandaise with the sauerkraut juice, along with it, a crispy toast composed with cereals, lima beans and its pure, very fresh. The chef claims that he wants to work with some fermentation and traditional local products. We start the menu with the section of insects, trying one dish with escamoles (ant eggs) that was amazing, the texture was untuos, taste like earth a bit mushroomy but fresh bc it cantaint aguacate and chile serrano, on top a crispy ant made with burnt onion, that disnt taste too much. The other course was the chicatana ants, which we didn’t like too much, I guess the flavours all together didn’t work for us. Following up a bit more fermentation, this time kefir (great acidity, but too sweet for me) foam-like, betabel (purple craut) and nuts, interesting and nice combinarion but my taste was always looking for some more salty, taste like dessert. Onion soup with jamon emulsion, and. Oaxacan cheese. Nice soup, warm, savoury, served with jamon chicharron, also crispy and tasty, if smth i’ll ask for more jamon flavour on the soup which wasnt too much tasty. Following with some eggplant in escabeche along with a pure made with black and white garlic, some crispy layer made with chard and also some chard cream, nice course maybe didnt work as much as the other ingredients the texture of the eggplant. One of the most interesting dishes was the totoaba (croacker fish) with a huitlacoche pil pil and some stirfried huitlacoche. Being for me huitlacoche one of the most amazing ingredients that I ever seen, it ws such a nice idea to use emulsified in the pil pil, the obly thing i’ll say is that since the dish was a big portion, and the end felt a bit overwhelming aince there was nothing else to break the earthy/unamu flavour, just a bit fresh cilantro (really nice, but not enough). We go with some lechon (suckling pig) served with pipian (kinda green mole) and some mexican herbs, fresh and in tempura, ended with a demiglace made with pork ear. Fresh, spicy, spiced as well, meaty, i guess that’s a nice dish that express perfectly the mexican flavours, i liked pretty much the pipian and reminded me a lot to a thai green curry. On the other side we had a fish served with seaweed. There’s a placton emulsed with aji, we fins some kombu (roasted that was amazing flavour) egg roe and alot of seaweed, 7 kinds they said. I would love to have again this dish, but i’ll add, ofc thats only my opinion, a sashimi cut, instead of a cooked fish served cold, i find the combination was amazingly good, really interesting but missing a nice texture of a fish that felt a bit rubbery, i’d love a fatty sashimi cut on there. A stop to clean abit the palate, an interesting interpretation of paletas (local frutty icecream) made with homemade berries vinegar and served really elegant. Ending with to meat courses, we had the sweetbreads, perfectly cooked and tasty, served with cauliflower pure, dried cauliflower (didnt work as good as the other dried textures) and pasilla chile sauce (i guess it was pasilla or maybe im wrong). A really tasty dish, overpowering abit the sauce but that combines reallly good, and u also fins a bir crumbs of what i think was oaxacan matured cheese. On the other side we had wagyu beef (which i understood was mexican) served with a really tasty and interesting bread yeast sauce , some perfectly cooked tupimanbur and a demiglace made with pork ear and infused with some mustard. Honestly, this dish doesnt need the wagyu, that was totally eclipsed by the other ingredients, i mean the wagyu was good, but man that tupinambur with the yeast dauce and the meatty flavor form the pork saue was too good.

Food is fresh and very tasty, imaginative and genuine menu with a Mexican twist. Expect a waiting list, booking in advance is recommended as it's a very popular spot amongst locals and visitors.

Taj Meadows: Food was quite good, though not as good as the first time we went a year ago (one steak was good, the ribeye, but the fillet we got was kinda flavorless). And though the place is beautiful, the service was pretty disappointing. We got one dish and one drink 2 extra times, the timing for entrees was all over the place, and it just felt like everyone was a bit overwhelmed. We’ll give it another shot, as we had a great experience in our first visit…but we were a little disappointed this time.

Alonso Abed: Second visit to this restaurant, and must say it’s a very nice experience when visiting Mexico City. It has a wide range of Mexican dishes that can satisfy a curious palate, with the panuchos being a highlight of the meal as well as the guacamole with grasshoppers. The service is always attentive and never rushed the plates out. The place is always full for lunch so highly recommend a reservation.

Nim Baylon: The staff and atmosphere was a 10/10. Other than that, it was okay. Was excited to try this place out based on the reviews. We got guacamole with grillos to start and they even gave us a taster of the mole they’re famous for. The mole was delicious and I was sold on getting it as the main dish. My partner and I got both for the tortilla soup. The presentation and taste was the best part of the entire meal. My partner got the catch of the day which was bland and the mole taste nothing like what I tried in the beginning. I couldn’t get myself to finish it all. Overall, the food other than the tortilla soup wasn’t that memorable.

Tyler Fuller: Gorgeous space, it feels like you're in someone's personal garden in their beautiful home. The service was top notch! I felt as if we were being treated as royalty. The food was no exception. We ordered multiple appetizers and all were fresh and incredibly tasty. We all ordered different mole dishes and each was equally delicious as the next. I would have loved to try their dessert, but we were all so full and completely satisfied. However, don't skip the mezcal margaritas. The mango and tamarindo ones were my favorite!

Alex Zhang: Really not impressed with this placed named “authentic” Mexican food. It’s more a fusion Mexican with very high price point with mediocre food. The space is cute in a little garden surrounded by greens. We shared the taco for appetizer. It’s very basic nothing better than street taco. The main I had a fish dish, it’s basically the fish in Marianna sauce but it was listed as an Mexican traditional food. Very disappointed. Service was ok, our waiter looked tired and never smiled. A strange vibe.

Phil Y: Fantastic restaurant. Great ambiance in a semiopen setting. We arrived on a weekday afternoon without reservation and were able to be seated immediately. Waiters were friendly and knowledgeable about the history and stories behind the dishes. There was a guest chef menu which provided an interesting variety especially in the dessert section. Girlfriend loved the sopa de tortilla which came in a beautifully carved bowl.

Mariana G: Probably one of the best restaurants in Mexico City. Azul is a beautiful restaurant that serves traditional Mexican dishes with breathtaking presentation. This is not your average meal; it’s a spectacular culinary experience. If you’re looking for delicious gourmet food, look no further. Here’s what I tried: appetizer: “panuchos de cochinita pibil” - handmade corn tortillas stuffed with black beans, topped with cochinita pibil (marinated, slow-roasted pork) and pickled red onions; so good! entrée: “pipián rojo vegano” - red sauce made from sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and guajillo chiles served over gourds; this was the most underwhelming dish for me. entrée: “buñuelos de pato rostizado” - fritters filled with roasted duck, topped with Oaxacan black mole sauce, served over slices of zucchini and blackberries that melt in your mouth; hands down the best dish I tried, I was blown away by the flavors and textures of this dish. drink: “agua de horchata con coco” - a sweet drink made from rice, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and coconut; tasty but very filling. dessert: “mousse de guanabana con zapote” - soursop mousse with sapote sauce; a truly delicious dessert made with two fruits commonly found in Mexican desserts. dessert: “pastel de tres leches con rompope” - tres leches cake in eggnog sauce; not my favorite but a decent dessert.

Madeleine Ball: Was expecting so much more based on the reviews and the price. With SO many options in CDMX, this was, in one word, forgettable. The chicken mole was very dry and the sopa de tortilla (though with a cute presentation) was just okay. The panuchos were very good but, again, over-priced. Margaritas were super sweet and tasted like from a mix. Servers were nice and the setting is beautiful. All in all, especially for the price, choose somewhere else to eat in CDMX.

Nelson Ho: One of our top dinner experiences we have had. Came here for a Thursday night dinner with my wife. Home was built in 1907. We were seated on the second level overlooking the DJ and main dining area. Very private, intimate, and best of all open air! We got about 7 different dishes that were all absolutely amazing. And all for only 2000 pesos! Would highly recommend!

Andrew Dabydeen: Came here after a few recommendations from friends. We were seated in a nice area that overlooked the street. The food was delicious and the drinks were okay - I’d hold off on cocktails and just order a beer if anything. I’d highly recommended the ravioli and fish. When asked for a tip, we gave an amount but were charged a higher percentage. Didn’t want to make a big deal about that but just a heads up in case it happens to anyone else.

Vincent Mañara: Dinner experience was nice. Good vibes. Didn’t expect a DJ to be playing inside the restaurant. The food was good. The complimentary artichoke was delicious. The pressed octopus Gorditas was my favorite. So crispy and flavorful. The sea bass was good but needed more salt. The Milpa sea bass was just okay. Wasn’t our favorite. Drinks were good. Service was good.

Arba: Loved this restaurant the most for its ambiance and iconic architecture and feel. From the moment you walk into the restaurant you’re in awe with the exteriors and then once in with the high walls, cute plants hanging down, the different rooms with beautiful work on the walls and art and the great service. nellious: The entrée menu seems more interesting than the mains so we ended ordering five entrées. The seafood tostadas were super tasty! Followed by Steak Tartare and that was next level ! Organic Beets is alright, the mix with burrata was quite odd. Also had one ribeye taco and one pork taco(that one is cold when served, so that’s quite disappointing). This is a restaurant I would recommend to try at least once. Service was good and friendly.

Hamilton Fortuna Bautista: By far, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited: from the welcoming, the service, the food, the place itself… is all perfection. Servers can perfectly speak English fluently and they are the nicest guys around. I ordered the rib eye crust, croquetas de jamón serrano, mushroom risotto, duck ravioli, the salad, the lemon surprise dessert… everything was spectacular. I’d come here over and over and will visit when I’m again in CDMX. They also have the nicest bread I’ve had in a while. Perfect place.

We got 5 dishes with 3 glasses of wine, and the total bill was about USD 150. Not on the inexpensive side but def worth the experience esp for special occasions. Speaking of which, they gave us a special dessert just for our anniversary. A very nice touch! If you're coming to Mexico City, definitely check it out!

Yi-Jie Wang: We have consumed so much salt we are now human pickles. I have never had so much salt in a meal in my life before, and I have done salt water cleanses before. Truffle mushrooms are nice, but not needed in ice-cream. Even as someone that enjoys having ice-cream and cheesecake for breakfast, the dessert was too sweet. All of the plating was very beautiful, but unfortunately I am eating with my mouth and not my eyes Update: threw up multiple times the next morning, and other incidences I will not mention in a food review. Called the restaurant for a refund and they pretended not to speak English and tried to blame OpenTable for billing

Elijah H-R: garum was absolutely spectacular. the presentation of the food is stunning, and everything, from the amuse bouche to the bread was creative and delicious. standout dishes for us were the “fake ravioli” — a composition of mushrooms is really the only way it can be described — and the giandujadessert.

Steven B: Spectacular Culinary Experience Garum is truly exceptional and highly underrated. We had one of the most spectacular culinary experiences ever. We travel a lot and always eat at top restaurants in the cities that we visit. Chef Vicente Torres and his team create Michelin Star dishes at USA high end bistro prices. Every plate was a work of art and not only looked spectacular but was also a gastronomic explosion on the palate. We made a reservation for a Sunday night to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived the restaurant which is small and intimate and only serves a few tables a night, was empty. We expected it to fill up only to find out that we were the only table booked and the restaurant opened up especially for us. Mauricio, the Manager, told us that the Chef prefers to serve only a few tables per night so that the quality of the cuisine remains at the very high standard that has been set. Mauricio and the team provided a magnificent experience which made our anniversary truly memorable. If you are in Mexico City, you absolutely cannot miss Garum. You will regret it if you do.

Esproterbro: Romantic evening in this intimate restaurant with an excellent tasting menu. The wine pairings were perfect. The most surprising and delicious was the foie gras presented like a golden ball of chocolate. We loved the false lasagna that was a wonderful mushroom dish. We thought the tuna with the tomato salsa was perfect and didn't need the crab sauce underneath.

Yulieth: It exceeded my expectations. The timing of the tasting was perfect. Dessert was the sensation. I would return to celebrate another special event. The attention was excellent from everyone who works there. Congratulations to the whole team.

David Feizy: Fantastic food, not too greasy and the deserts were not super sweet, everything was just right! My only complaint is that the wait staff didn't speak a word of English. If you don't speak Spanish then it's very hard trying to figure out what the chef has created.

Orion Gornes: It was recommended by a local friend who has a food blog (IG @itingood). The atmosphere is elegant, modern and sophisticated. Upon entering you already get the sensation this place is all about quality and attention to details. The cocktails are very good, excellent wine selection as well. Now about the food... amazing! From the creamy bacalao, to the foie gras with sweet wine and flowers, wagyu tartare all the way through to the steak with marrow and foie sauce. Everything was incredible. The service was outstanding. Will definitely be coming back on my next stop to CDMX.

Elie Villeda: Brilliant restaurant!! Harmony it's something that defines this place. Chef Vicente Torres tries to define his food and menu with extravagant flavours (using a lot of Indian species) but at same time making it harmonious. The foie gras (made like an elote) was superb, the artichoke and the fillet are amazing . The wine list is really good , please try a Mexican wine suggested by the sommelier.

Juriy: Came in with a lot of expectations and Garum mostly met all of them. The food is up there with Michelin-star restaurants I've dined at in the past. Very affordable, at ~75USD per person for a 5-course tasting menu. The dishes are all quite good but only one of them — lobster bisque -like concoction with chicharron and a fake corn that's actually... popcorn-infused butter? — made me feel like in heaven. Given the quality and attention to details in food, I was surprised that their cocktails didn't quite live up to the level. Not even a garnish, no interesting amaros or specialty cocktails, no advanced cocktail techniques. I think that's something they could work on. Otherwise, would gladly come back — the food, the impeccable service, the value, Garum has got it all.

Michael Levy: Among the best meals I've had, including Michelin starred restaurants. Superb flavors, gorgeous presentations, beautiful restaurant with great vibe and music, solid relaxed-pace service, and the balcony views of Centro and the square are icing on the cake. Did the tasting menu, no drinks. Fantastic value at ~60usd. My only critique is that about half of the (many) desserts were far too sugary for my palette, and that's a palette that enjoys candy.

MAD-TJ Travels: Pastry Chef Lucero’s skills are amazing. She is leading a strong team who delivered amazing food. Every pastry is excellent 👍🏾 If you are friends with the chef like me 😁, you can get White chocolate croissant with lemon zest & orange , glazed with honey, worlds best ! Breakfast is wonderful & on the house, Mexican omelette is delicious. Their hospitality is top class 👏🏾 A strong & capable women force 👏🏾👍🏾 Loved the ambiance !

Kurt and Sheila Team: You must do the tasting menu with the wine pairing! This dining experience coupled with the amazing weather and friendly people is enough to bring us back to Mexico City. bianca huzum: What an amazing experience! We had breakfast here for 7 days (we stayed at the Zocalo hotel) and had dinner here once as well. The service is incredible! Friendly, attentive and fast staff. The food was delicious and the view was breathtaking. I consider myself lucky for seeing the sunrise over the cathedral for 7 days in a row while enjoying a cup of coffee.

EverythingPlayaDelCarmen Website: We give this place a 4.3. It is a well designed restaurant with a great view. It is also the same place for breakfast for hotel guests, so usually means not a truly a good restaurant focus on food. Coffee is very good here. Baked goods were dry and not very tasty. Food was good but not special. The view makes it worthwhile but there is a good chance you won’t have a seat with an unobstructed view or not much of a view at all.

Janice Mendez: This is an excellent restaurant with the best views in the city. The food is excellent. We had dinner last evening and came back for lunch. It’s clean, airy and the service is remarkable. Would highly recommend.

Agathe Guerrier: Excellent food and wonderful views over the Zocalo. Creative Mexican cuisine with many vegetarian and even vegan options. I give 4 stars because the DJ tested the sound system for a good hour during lunch and that was extremely disruptive.

Roberto “robbiekenobi” Martínez: Place with international cousin. I can say this place has excellent service and the staff will do wonders to make you feel welcome. While the courses have its highs and its lows overall the kitchen is good, while not fantastic or diverse. I do have to say that I would come back for just a couple of dishes, or one at the most (Great lobster mac and cheese). The decoration is like being at Disney’s haunted house, here I am sitting expecting at any time for the creepy pictures to begin moving and the deer heads to begin singing, I do love the kitchen and the view from the terrace. Overall if your meeting is with a really old fashion associate this place is for you, if not there are better places to choose from.

She is a tough critic of food as a fellow chef & caterer throughout our hometown in New York City.. but when I say she enjoyed herself from start to finish, I MEAN IT! She has still not stopped talking about the food & service here lol. After only just receiving the second course, my mom couldn’t help but ask to see the chef to applaud his work. ALL of the Chefs’ Suggestions were delicioso & from the different breads & smooth butter, to the perfectly cooked salmon, to the superbly seasoned beef skewers to the fall-off-the-bone lamb chops, to the yummiest CHEESECAKE for dessert... literally EVERYTHING melted in our mouths. My mom said this was her best birthday ever before blowing out her candle, so it’s safe to say that we will surely return to Mexico City for dinner at The Capital Grille with some more family & friends to experience the amazing service of José Hernandez & the rest of the staff and of course to eat some more of the chefs’ divine suggestions!!

The service is attentive and professional and the food is excellent. Had maguey worms in tortillas, escamoles (ant eggs) in tortillas, chicken mole and tres leches. All were very delicious, particularly the mole. The worms and ant eggs were also very good. Would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.
